Prepaid Wireless Cellular Phone Service Makes Good Cents
By
In this day and age of instant communications, it seems almost no one goes without a cellular phone. But what about those who can’t meet credit requirements, or those who don’t want to deal with surprise last- minute fees when the bill hits? Is prepaid wireless cellular phone service a viable option?
You bet!
Keep in mind though, prepaid service comes with its advantages and disadvantages over traditional cell phone service. Both services, however, can and do provide phone users the emergency protection many so desire. They make it easy to call for help when you’ve had a flat tire on the freeway, to enlist aid in picking up kids when you’re running late or simply staying in touch with friends and family while you’re away from home. Why go without the ability for instant communication in the time of an emergency if you don’t have to?
Here are some of the most common advantages of prepaid cellular phone service:
? No contract means there’s no long-term commitment and you’re not stuck with a single type of service for a year or more. ? Monthly bills don’t flood your mail box. Since you’ve paid in advance, you just have to worry about the running tally. That’s a lot better than a giant bill waiting at the end of the month.
? Helps you stay within budget. If you can only afford $30 a month for phone service, you won’t spend more.
? Hidden fees are not present. Paying upfront stops unexpected charges on the back end.
? Credit checks aren’t necessary. This enables anyone with the cash to be able to have a phone when it’s needed.
? Security deposits aren’t required.
? Ease of adding to the plan. Prepaid phones can have their balances added to at any time, giving you as many minutes as you might need.
? Perfect for children who might need a phone for checking in, but those who would spend way too much on an unlimited plan.
Prepaid cellular phone service is a great route to go for many, but there are some disadvantages.
Considering the pros, however, these are pretty miniscule for those who benefit from the freedom prepaid has to offer.
? Per minute charges are generally a bit higher, but for those who want a phone for emergency situations or just occasional conversations, the cost is not a huge issue.
? Most prepaid services won’t allow collect or third-party billed calls.
Considering the advantages, it’s easy to see why so many are turning to prepaid phone service to handle their cellular needs. These phones are perfect for those who want tight budget controls, have troublesome credit, those who won’t use their phones often, for children and even for those who will only use them in an emergency. There’s no need to go without with prepaid service available.
There’s no reason to go without a cellular phone thanks to the benefits of prepaid cellular service.

The very popular iPhone must be used with the not so popular cellular network AT&T. People using other networks must break their contracts to switch to AT&T. That can cost up to $250. But a teenager has modified the computer code in an iPhone, freeing it from its corporate master and letting it work with other carriers. Apple advertisements read: “There’s never been an iPod that can do this. No there certainly has not. The iPhone, the most hyped mobile phone ever, has been hacked by this guy …

Cingular works best for us. My husband is also an over-the-road truck driver. We have had our existing plan for a couple of years and have been very pleased so far. There are always spots where the coverage is not good or you will drop calls but for the most part, we almost always have a good signal. He will need a pretty good size plan, though. All of our driving friends use their phones constantly, for work and for friends and family. Our plan is 4000 anytime minutes with free mobile to mobile, rollover, and all the extras so we pay about $200 a month. Of course, that is tax deductible as a business expense.

Stop at almost any pharmacy and buy a tracfone for anywhere from $10 to $16. You buy units as you need them. I am in a program that gives me double units for the same price, but I use mine a lot.
They also have an international calling plan that makes calls to about 65 countries including Canada count as local calls and you can also get up to two more numbers for the same phone so that friends and family in either Canada or Mexico can call you as a local call.
If you would like more information, you can contact me or check tracfone.com

I am with Cricket.
I like it because I do not have to count minutes, I get unlimited text messaging for $5.00 per month. I haven't had a dropped call in many moons. My cell phone bills are manageable; no surprises.
I do not like the fact that when I call their 800# help line I call to some overseas phone center.

http://www.tracfone.com it is awesome it is a prepaid phone with no age limits no montly bills no hidden fees/costs and no contracts and with all the calling features such as free voicemail free caller id free call waiting and free nationwide long distance. all for as little as $10 a month calculated minimum usage because you have to buy a minute card every 60 or every 365 days depending on if you bought the year service card because the cheapest minute card is 20 dollars and you would have to add one every 60 days it would be around $10 a month which isnt bad. Hope this Helps!!!!!! Tracfone Wireless is awesome good luck choosing your phone!!
P.S. and a phone kit is only about $20 bucks @ your local walmart walgreens and family dollar stores etc. this includes up to 20 minutes and 60 days of wireless service included
And I will tell you when Tracfone Says they have "Nationwide coverage" they absolutely mean it I use it all the time and I would rather have nationwide coverage across the U.S. than have free mobile web on fridays with boost mobile but it all depends on the user preference or even if you want to make the monthly cost go down get a year service card for $100 and it works out to be $8.33 a month which is even cheaper than the $10 I mentioned earlier.
Hope this helps!!

We use an ATT family plan, no texting or insurance but all the other extras like call waiting , forwarding, v-mail, nationwide roaming and unlimited long nationwide distance etc.
We have a block of time per month, about 700 anytime minutes with roll over minutes. We always have a surplus at the end of the month and seem to be losing roll over minutes faster than we can use them.
Bottom line we spend $110 total (with taxes etc) for 5 phones. And the price doesn't go up and down because we don't tolerate the over charges. Don't ever base your pricing on their advertised plan price without taking into consideration the taxes and fees. It is always a significant factor more, at least 15%, usually as much as 20%,
Make sure to use equipment wisely. No downloads or texting. No fancy hula hoop features like silly television over your phone. If the kids run up charges then they either have to work it off and pay the diference or lose their phone for a month.
The first time you confiscate a phone is the hardest but they get the idea quick that it is NOT an entitlement and if they don't cooperate on responsible usage then there is always the option of closing the account.
Have you talked to your ATT provider to get a better plan?
They will sit with you on the phone and help tailor a plan to your needs if you call them and negotiate. You can research the current plan offerings online but sometimes the sales rep will know of an option that is not listed.
BTW the family plan option also means that all calls between you and the other members do not accumlate minute charges. Also ATT does not charge minutes for any calls to other ATT phones.
I believe all the networks offer this option now anyway but often you ONLY get what you ask for so make sure you ask your sales rep for the sky even if you have to just settle for the clouds. ;~)
